NFC PTA MINI-GRANTS

STEM/Garden/Recycling/SEL Mini-Grant Applications now open for 2021!

NFC PTA recognizes the importance of promoting environmental stewardship in our community. Our mini-grant program provides financial support to projects that demonstrate Environmental Education practices, methods, and techniques while supporting the Georgia Curriculum. Over the past couple years, we added a STEM mini-grant as well as a SEL mini-grant.

Gardening Mini-Grant: A gardening mini-grant will be awarded to North Fulton County schools that promote environmental stewardship by letting the students become active participants in the learning process. Applicants should be schools that have an already existing gardening program and need support to continue using the garden to integrate lessons into their educational program.

Recycling Mini-Grant: We believe that a school-recycling program is a hands-on, interdisciplinary lesson that educates students about the environment, personal responsibility, community action, and solid waste management. Therefore we would like to help relieve some of the cost of your program. Applicants should be schools that are planning to have a sustainable and successful recycling program.

STEM Mini-Grant: We would like to support individual K-12 teachers or PTA members with the resources for original innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) projects. Funding should be used to purchase supplies relevant to the project.

New in 2020! SEL Mini-Grant: We would like to support individual K-12 teachers or PTA members with the resources for initiating or improving Social Emotional Learning programs.  Funding should be used to purchase supplies or services to promote parent-school-community partnerships that increase schools’ access to guidance, resources and tools for social emotional learning.

We invite all schools in good standing (up to date with membership reporting dues etc.) to apply.

Please print the applications below and send it to environment@nfcpta.com by April 15, 2021.

Winners will be announced at the School of Information on May 12th.
